Charminster Pre-school is a well-established Pre-school and has been running since 1971.

Built in the Summer of 2006, our premises are a log cabin, specifically designed for Early Years Education. The cabin benefits from decking overlooking farmland and under floor heating.

It includes a bright, airy and well-equipped playroom and a large grassed area with play equipment. We have an on-going ’Garden Project’ where we hope to see our garden grow to include various areas such as play, sensory, quiet, wildlife and a vegetable patch. The Pre-school is also able to use part of the St. Mary’s First School playground.

We have close links with St. Mary’s First School and the Pre-school children can attend class assemblies on Friday mornings. Our Play leaders liaise with the Reception class teachers to ensure the transition into school is as smooth as possible.

We are a registered charity and are run by a voluntary committee made up of Parents and Staff. Parents are encouraged to be active members of our Pre-school committee.
